Why does Maker Faire matter to Discovery Space and The Rivet?
Because Maker Faire is a natural extension of what we do every day!
Discovery Space & The Rivet is a nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities for kids and people of ALL ages to explore, experiment, create, and learn.
Maker Faire gives us a chance to bring that mission beyond our walls, bringing our community together with makers from near and far for a weekend of inspiration, experimentation, and fun.
Maker Faire is about more than what’s on display. It’s about what happens when people get curious.
- You might see something that makes you wonder How did they do that?
- You might try something you’ve never done before.
- You might meet someone who inspires your next project.
- Or you might simply discover that making something yourself is a lot more fun than you expected.
It gives our community a place to share ideas, celebrate creativity, get hands-on, and discover what’s possible when you’re given the space to try.
We believe curiosity is for everyone. You don’t have to be an engineer, an artist, a woodworker, or an experienced maker. You just have to be willing to ask a question, try something new, or make something that didn’t exist before.
That’s why we’re proud to bring Maker Faire Happy Valley to our community.
